taking time to smell the roses, my story Some years ago when I was living in Sydney I met and fell in love with a guy who lived in Melbourne. Pretty quickly we decided the long distance romance was not for us and I moved to a new city to be with him and the romance blossomed (so to speak). I kicked off this new life with a new house, new car and last but not least, a new husband! Around this time I also began to think about a new career direction….. and why not I had changed everything else! So moving to Melbourne became the catalyst for me to follow my long held passion for flowers. With newfound enthusiasm, I made the move from the information technology (IT) industry to the creative world of floristry. My goal was to become a qualified florist and enrolling in a floristry course was my first step towards blending my IT and business experience with my floral design skill. After graduating from floristry and completing my market research, I knew there was a gap in the market for what I wanted to create – a luxury product with a designer feel. There was nothing out there with any style and I knew a high end product was a wonderful concept..... Just imagine receiving this huge creamy ivory box with a stunning black rose image on it. A sensual black satin ribbon flowing over the box... the WOW Factor is huge, and that’s even before the lid comes off! Unwrapping your package reveals a dozen magnificent, hand selected, perfectly formed roses. Simply gorgeous! ....... and that is how MY ROSES was born.
